Qld: Minister to start chemo as soon as next week - Beattie

Queensland Premier PETER BEATTIE says Communities Minister WARREN PITT is likely to
have non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma and will start chemotherapy as soon as next week.

Mr PITT was rushed to hospital from Parliament House last week after suffering severe
chest pains.

Doctors have cleared him of heart problems.

Mr BEATTIE says Mr PITT is still undergoing tests to confirm the non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma
diagnosis.

He says Primary Industries Minister HENRY PALASZCZUK will continue as acting Communities
Minister.
