NSW:Dogs & prisoners help each other

Prisoners and stray dogs will help rehabilitate one another following the launch of
a dog training centre in a NSW prison.

Inmates will train neglected dogs in an effort to reduce reoffending while building
employment skills at John Morony Correctional Complex in Berkshire Park in Sydney's west.

Minister for Corrective Services PHILLIP COSTA says the program will give both the
inmates and dogs a second chance.

The prisoners will study a certificate II in animal companion services and will be
responsible for the care of the dogs and their training.
