Vic: Severe weather forecast later today

MELBOURNE, Dec 3 AAP - Residents in Melbourne's outer northern and eastern suburbs
were today being urged to batten down the hatches for another round of storms later today,
the Bureau of Meteorology said.

Storms similar to those which swept across Melbourne early today could hit the city
again, Bureau of Meteorology senior forecaster Geoff Kitchen said.

"They could become severe later tonight and could have the potential to produce as
much rain and hail as last night," Mr Kitchen said.

Severe thunderstorm warnings have also been issued for northern and eastern parts of Victoria.
