QLD:Third Qld minister resigns

A third Queensland minister has confirmed he'll resign from state cabinet .. ahead
of a reshuffle to be announced on Monday.

Fair Trading and Tourism Minister PETER LAWLOR will announce he'll step down on Monday
to concentrate on retaining his seat of Southport.

Yesterday .. Public Works Minister ROBERT SCHWARTEN and Local Government Minister DESLEY
BOYLE said they'll quit their portfolios from Monday .. and retire from politics at the
2012 election.

Mr LAWLOR says his colleagues' decisions have prompted his own .. telling The Gold
Coast Bulletin .. he thinks it's an opportune time to give Premier ANNA BLIGH some more
flexibility to reshape the Government.

Mr LAWLOR's move means Ms BLIGH will take three vacant positions to today's caucus
meeting at 9am (AEST).
