'Senseless'.

SICK criminals have drowned a cockerel, battered two geese to death and smashed up pigeon lofts at an allotments and - in a separate incident - laid rat poison in a park which has made several dogs ill.

The deaths have appalled animal owners, who described the incidents as "senseless" and "dangerous".

Heartless yobs struck at the Hilderthorpe Allotment and Leisure Society in Bessingby Way, Bridlington, at the weekend, wrecking property and killing the animals.

And the playing fields on the Danescroft estate are off-limits to dogs after a number of animals fell ill after swallowing rat poison, which is believed to have been put down deliberately by youngsters.

The allotments have been the target of vandals for the past 11 months but, after discovering the dead animals, people have had enough.
